Minor surgery
At LEO, I know what to expect.
A laceration, an abscess, an ingrown toenail: we carry out many minor procedures right here on Taborstraße. Beforehand, we explain what we'll do, whether you'll need a local anaesthetic and what happens afterwards. And if a procedure is better done by a specialist or in hospital, we'll tell you openly.
Our services
Wound care and chronic wounds (wound management), e.g., leg ulcers: We clean and treat the wound and change the dressings regularly.
Cuts and lacerations: We clean the wound and suture it if necessary.
Abscesses and inflammations (purulent inflammation under the skin): We assess the area and open an abscess if necessary under local anesthesia.
Lipomas and cysts (benign nodules under the skin): We remove smaller nodules directly under the skin in our practice.
Ingrown nails (nail surgery): We treat the ingrown nail, if necessary with a minor procedure.
Tissue samples (biopsies): We take a small sample and send it to the laboratory for analysis.
Minor accidents: We examine you and treat the injury. If an X-ray is needed, we will refer you.
Joint injections (injection into the joint): We inject medication directly into the joint, for example in the case of knee or shoulder complaints, and take care of the follow-up treatment.
Post-operative care after outpatient procedures: Dressing changes, check-ups, and suture removal, even if the procedure was performed in a hospital or another practice.
How a minor procedure works
Initial consultation: We examine the area, check whether the procedure is suitable to be done here and discuss possible risks with you.
Procedure: Where needed, we give you a local anaesthetic. You're awake the whole time and can ask questions at any point.
Aftercare: You get an appointment for a wound check or suture removal. We tell you what to look out for at home.
Please let us know beforehand if you take anticoagulants (blood thinners) or have allergies, for example to local anaesthetics or plasters. Please bring your e-card and a list of your medication.
Public or private insurance?
Whether your insurance covers a procedure depends on the reason. We'll clarify this at the initial consultation, before any costs arise.
Schedule an appointment
The first step is a consultation with your doctor. There, we will discuss your concerns and then arrange an appointment together. Please book a doctor's visit for this. If this is your first time with us, please select "New Patient".
